Back in my youth pastoring days, I definitely shook things up—less flash, more Holy Spirit! 🙌🏼
We swapped out much of the games and snacks for worship, prayer, and Holy Spirit encounters. It wasn’t what everyone else was doing, but ohhh was it powerful. Students were praying over each other, witnessing miracles, inviting their friends, and even starting Jesus clubs at school. The hunger was real, the fruit was lasting, and the faith was fiery, y’all! Hearing the ripple effect in their families and even years later—that stuff still brings me to tears. ❤️
Here’s what I’ve learned: Faith will lead you places comfort never could.
When you say YES to Jesus, it’s not just about knowing more—it’s about stepping into a bold, Spirit-filled life where heaven breaks in and surprises meet you at every turn. His Word becomes your map, and every step of faith opens new doors you didn’t even know were there.
Jesus reveals different sides of Himself in different seasons—and you don’t want to miss any of them:
🏖️ On the peaceful shore, you’ll see His tenderness, care, and clarity.
🌊 In the middle of the storm, you’ll witness His strength, power, and fierce protection.
And in both places? You’ll find miracles, purpose, and a love that doesn’t flinch.
Each side reveals more of His heart. Getting to know Him in each of those moments deepens your trust—and makes this journey with Him rich, wild, deeply personal, even thrilling.
Take Peter, for example.
His journey wasn’t about one dramatic leap—it was a series of small, everyday YESes that turned into a wild, holy adventure:
👍🏼 First, came the boat. When Jesus asked to borrow it on the peaceful shore, Peter gave Jesus his first YES—and it led to a miraculous catch. One moment of obedience and suddenly he’s walking away from his nets and into Kingdom purpose. Every yes builds trust and brings a grander view.
💪🏼 Then came the storm. Peter saw Jesus walking on water in middle of the storm and asked to join Him. Jesus said, “Come,” and Peter actually stepped out of the boat. Not perfectly. Not without fear. But he moved. That’s what faith looks like—taking the risk because you trust the One calling.
👐🏼 And finally—the breakfast. After denying Jesus, Peter probably thought he was disqualified. But instead, Jesus made him breakfast on the same peaceful shore where it all started. 🥹 Total restoration. Fresh commission. Jesus's love called forth Peter's deepest dedication and partnership as He then called Peter into the biggest YES yet: helping launch the Church.
Peter’s story is proof that your next YES matters. Each one leads to more clarity, deeper trust, and greater purpose. And the same is true for you.
Following God isn’t always tidy or comfortable—but it’s always worth it! Even the bumps become building blocks for your story. 🧱
And like Peter, your journey may include stepping into things that feel uncertain. But God is already working behind the scenes—turning things for your good, arranging provision, stirring up bold dreams, and strengthening you for the next breakthrough. Think of the miracles He designs:
Bills paid unexpectedly
Peace in chaos
Healing in places you thought were stuck
Deep friendship
Fresh creativity, divine timing, and victories that overflow into your community
You might be facing a step right now that feels small—or straight-up scary. Whether the waters are calm or the winds are wild, don’t underestimate what one obedient YES can unlock. God will meet you with exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.
So what’s your next YES?
Starting a conversation? Praying for someone? Opening your Bible? Setting that boundary? Believing again?
Whatever it is—you’re not stepping alone. You’re walking with the One who calms storms, restores hearts, and calls ordinary people into extraordinary Kingdom impact.
I'm with you!
