🌱 Your Calling Stems from God’s Immense Care For You

Updated: Jul 31, 2025

I didn’t expect motherhood to undo me.

But there I was—buried under postpartum depression, wondering if I’d ever feel like me again.

It felt like my identity had crumbled and motherhood just sat on top of the rubble.

Was I doomed to a life of sacrificial duty and lost dreams? 😳

Because let’s be real: when you’re in survival mode, calling feels cruel—like a heavy expectation you can’t meet.

Can you relate at all?

(Spoiler: happy ending ahead👇🏽)

When life hits hard

Whether it’s trauma or just the daily grind—it’s easy to slip into survival mode.

The future gets fuzzy. Hope feels risky, like it might just lead to more disappointment. Dreams feel too far gone. And joy is just drained.

Most days, you’re just trying to outrun the big emotions… like lonely and sad. 😞

I know that ache. I know what it’s like to want more, but feel too exhausted or guilty to reach for it.

I didn’t need a 5-step plan or a theology textbook—

I needed someone to acknowledge the war inside me.

The war between purpose and just getting through the day. Between wanting to do something meaningful and barely making it through bedtime routines without breaking down.

What I didn’t know yet:

Purpose doesn’t start with striving—it starts with being loved.

Because when you know you’re loved, you can finally see things clearly. From that resting place, you gain wisdom to know what matters—and the faith to move forward.

Your calling isn’t just a task to complete. It's the overflow of a heart that’s been tenderly cared for by God.

And slowing down long enough to let Him care for you? That’s not a delay.

That is the path forward.

So take an honest pause with God today or this week. Because as you do...

Jesus WILL showcase His deep, personal care for you.

God’s care for you isn’t passive. It’s not distant or indifferent—though the enemy has been whispering that lie since the garden.

God's love is steady and sustaining… like your breath, your heartbeat, your every moment. (Yes—even that is Him.) 💗

But let’s be honest...

When life spins out or the wait stretches too long, most of us default into doubt, blame, or rewriting our theology just to make the ache make sense. We think...

If God is really that good… why doesn’t it always feel like it?

🌊 *Cue Peter slipping beneath the waves*—not because he stopped loving Jesus, but because fear got louder than trust.

Still, Jesus reached for him. 🫱🏽

And Scripture gives us such a vivid picture of this kind of care in Mary's story.

The Story of Mary Magdalene:

💔 She lived through torment, trauma, and loss. But her encounter with Jesus changed everything. She gave Him her whole heart, dedicating herself to caring for Jesus. Her devotion was so unwavering that you see her present as one of the very few at Jesus' most intense moments—when crowds left, at the cross, and at the tomb with spices in hand. Even in grief and uncertainty, she stayed close.

❤️‍🩹 Then Easter morning came. And Mary’s sorrow turned to joy with an encounter that topped all the rest (from glory to glory, yes?). Before He revealed Himself to anyone else…Before He returned to the Father…Jesus went seemingly off-track to see Mary. While she was there caring for Him, Jesus paused to care for her. She became the first witness of the risen Christ—Who demonstrated that God's care is never secondary, never rushed, and always intentional.

❤️‍🔥 Then Jesus entrusted her with a mission. She became the first to preach the resurrection. Her purpose was birthed straight out of intimacy with Jesus, and now her name echoes throughout history and still touches us all today.

Mary couldn’t have imagined that kind of purpose in her darkest days. But as she stayed close to Jesus, healing rewrote her story. And one day, her assignment found her.

That’s how He still works

God doesn’t toss out assignments like to-do lists. He doesn’t shove you into purpose with pressure and rush. He draws you in with care. And from that place of closeness, He begins to reveal what you were made for.

Mary’s story is such a beautiful moment in Scripture, but it’s also a pattern of God's nature and a whisper from heaven saying, “This is how I do things.”

He meets you in the places you thought were too messy. He walks you out of survival mode. He rebuilds with tenderness. And He entrusts you with purpose bigger than you, but ready for you.

The good news of Jesus means your story is headed toward an Easter morning kind of hope.

So bring Him the exhaustion, the ache, the questions you’ve been too afraid to ask. He’s not just listening—He’s already moving with miracles.

Jesus is in heaven right now praying for you. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the grave lives in you. And He’s eager to remind you how deeply you’re loved—and how profoundly you’re called.

👉🏼 In my own foggy postpartum season...

I felt like a shell of myself. But Jesus didn’t rush me. He met me. In both quiet or crying-out moments, I’d discern His whispers…

💬 “Reach out for community.”

💬 “Stand up, Kelsi. Make some coffee.”

💬 “Leave that mess. Breathe. Smile. Give thanks.

Little nudges. Holy reminders. His care showed up in the smallest ways…and it changed everything.

It rebuilt my confidence and healed my heart. It gave me joy where there was once only survival. And it led me to purpose.

Today, I’m living a version of motherhood I only dreamed of—one that’s joyful, connected, and full of laughter. My kids are thriving. Our home is full of life (and with that, plenty of noise, messes, and imperfections). And I know—this isn’t just transformation for me. It's generational, legacy-level restoration. 🥰

God’s care absolutely comforts, but it also resurrects and births something eternal.

Your purpose will be birthed through connection with God.

Not hustle, pressure, and perfection. But care, intimacy, healing, and love.

So let’s remember:

🫶 Your calling flows from connection.

🫶 His leadership is gentle and strategic, thoughtful and life-giving.

🫶 His plans are easy and light (Matthew 11:28–30).

🫶 He won’t weigh you down—He’s here to set you free & lift you up.

🫶 God’s care isn’t fluffy or passive—it’s the fuel behind your destiny.

🫶 Your care-fueled calling is already in motion.

So chew on this:

💬 What if the pause you take today is the very thing that unlocks your purpose tomorrow?

Cause "be still and know that He is God" isn't there to slow you down or bore you. It's a divine strategy to fill you with love and fuel your future.

So wherever you are today—Exhausted. Numb. Longing. Unsure. Know this:

🌱 Your mission stems from God’s immense care.

His attentive love will produce and propel everything you’re called to do.

So look to His love. ❤️ Let Him carry what’s heavy. Let Him rewrite what feels broken. Let Him lead you forward—slowly, gently, powerfully.

He’s not finished with you. He’s just getting started. 💌

In His immense care,

Kelsi
