Why Saying Yes to God's Adventure Will Ruin Boring Forever | Embrace a Life of Purpose

Updated: Sep 16, 2025

There I was—knees shaking, heart pounding—turning in the keys to my 20-year business.

It had been the faithful backup plan and financial engine that helped carry us across the country into ministry ventures of all kinds. And now? All I had was a whisper from God that there was more.

More purpose. More joy. More risk. More Him. I felt crazy. I felt alive.

And look where that road led me—right here with you. 💛

And honestly? I haven’t looked back. But it's had me thinking...

We’re all born curious—hungry for meaning and wonder.

But being hardwired for adventure doesn’t only mean climbing mountains or trekking into jungles. 🧗🏼‍♀️ It can look like:

  • trying a new recipe 🍪

  • picking up a hobby 🚴🏽‍♀️

  • or diving into a fresh book 📚

Still, somewhere along the way… comfort becomes king for many of us.

We start chasing safety, control, and predictable routines—all great things.

But without realizing it… our couch often becomes our compass. 😬🍿

But here’s the kicker:

God designed your spirit for more.

Science even backs it up—our brains light up with hearty dopamine when we try new things, take risks, and explore. It's like God wired us to grow through trust.

So Why Don’t We?

Because fear is loud.

Because religion told us risk = recklessness.

Because we picked up dampening beliefs like:

💭 “Don’t rock the boat.”

💭 “Just be grateful and stay put.”

💭 “Play it safe and spiritual.”

We’ve swapped our spark for stress, our curiosity for caution, our wonder-like state… for anxiety.

But you weren’t born to manage life. 🐜

You were born to live it—with God, on mission, heart on fire. 🔥

What Finally Wakes Us Up?

We usually make a move with one (or both) of these tipping points ⚖️:

Escalating Problems – when little annoyances start feeling like soul-screams.

🛋️ Stale Comforts – when “cozy” starts feeling claustrophobic and your spirit starts yelling, “Wake up!”

That’s where I was when I let go of my business.I had “success”—but no stretch.

And let’s be honest: growth always requires stretch.

Back in Jesus' day, people were no different. The proud clung to comfort and control. But the humble? They noticed their stale comforts and escalating problems—and that made following Jesus the obvious choice.

Jesus loves revealing His secrets to the hungry.

Like Nicodemus—curious enough to sneak off for a midnight convo. Total red-pill moment. He walked in with logic and left with fire.

When You Say Yes to the Adventure…

It’s not just a good story. It's a transformed life.

Here’s what I’ve learned. Read it slowly to soak them in:

✅ God’s better than I imagined.

✅ The unknown with Him is safer than the known without Him.

✅ His presence IS and LEADS INTO the ultimate success and thrills.

✅ Saying yes brings results I couldn’t have strategized.

✅ My pain becomes purpose.

✅ Healthy community is possible (even after betrayal).

✅ Growth feels scary, but leads to wild, rewarding joy.

✅ Healings, provision, & limitless freedom are on the other side of fear & “sacrifice.”

✅ God is a gentleman—tender, not forceful. Always leading, never shaming.

✅ Life with Him is anything but boring!

Suddenly? The couch… the comfort zone… the predictable schedule… the Netflix-and-chill life? It just doesn’t hit the same. Not when your spirit’s tasted something better.

But if you're anything like me...

You're still wondering: “What about the risk? The reason I’m afraid in the first place?”

Fair question. I asked it, too. 💭

And here’s the thing:

God doesn’t ignore the fear. He meets you in it.

He doesn’t throw you off a cliff and yell “Have faith!” from a distance. He walks with you, whispers wisdom, confirms His voice, and strengthens you step by step.

And when you move with Him?

The risk starts to feel like a doorway, not a death sentence. It doesn’t mean the fear vanishes—but it loses its grip.

Because trust grows. Your spirit steadies. And you realize:

The real risk… is staying stuck.

You weren’t made to miss out, shrink back, or drift through life numb.

You were made to live awake, connected, and fully alive in God's adventure!

Ask Yourself:

  • What stale comfort have I been clinging to?

  • What fears do I need to bring before God and hear His truth on?

  • Where has God been gently nudging me to go deeper, dream bigger, or finally step out?

  • What would it look like to say, “I’m in”—even while trembling? 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽

You don’t have to leap blindly. You just have to ask for spiritual sight. To say, “Jesus, light me up like you did Nicodemus.”

He will.

And here’s the truth:

He’s created you to discover your gifts and purpose in community.

If you need step-by-step guidance or even healing in the story God’s writing in your life, the Revival Life Signature Course is a bold, accelerated dive into your identity, purpose, and Spirit-led life. (Trust me, it’s not boring.)

Here’s the Good News:

You don’t have to have it all figured out.

That just means you’re in the hands of a God too big to box in. Who's sent goodness and mercy to chase after you. And that’s meant to comfort you deeply!

So go ahead—ditch the popcorn. 🍿

Turn down the noise. You’re not too late. Not too far gone. Not too stuck.

You’re being invited—

by the Father, who sings over you with delight,

by Jesus, who promises you life to the full,

and by the Holy Spirit, who leads you into all truth.

No couch required.

I’m with you. Let’s embrace His adventure together! 🌿✨
