✨ Let’s be real—stepping out in faith can feel terrifying.
I still remember gearing up for a travel day in airports years ago, heart pounding, feeling nudged by the Holy Spirit to pray for strangers. I wanted to obey… but I also wanted to crawl into the nearest restroom and hide. 😅
I was just starting to believe God still does miracles. That He partnered with ordinary people like you and me.
Reading about, hearing of, even seeing Bible-sized miracles—but today? That had me hooked. Something deep in my bones was coming alive.
But fear when it came to praying for others? It whispered things like:
💭 “What if I mess this up?”
💭 “What if I look crazy?”
💭 “What if God doesn’t show up?”
I had this image of God tossing me into the deep end of ministry like a tough dad teaching his kid to swim—no floaties, no warning, just splash. 😬🫧 But that’s not His nature.
God didn’t shove me. He led me—gently, strategically, and thoughtfully. And what unfolded in that airport still thrills me to this day!
✈️ Here’s what happened:
1️⃣ I bumped into an old friend (across the country?!) who was struggling with deep discouragement. I prayed for him right there in the terminal, and he walked away lighter and full of crazy hope. ✨
2️⃣ Next, I struck up a conversation with some teens heading overseas on a mission trip. They said it was just “what their youth group did.” I affirmed them and asked if they had a favorite thing about Jesus. I shared mine too, and with a few personal, simple truths about Jesus, they teared up—undone. They asked me to pray for them, and I watched them leave with fire in their eyes. ❤️🔥
3️⃣ Finally, I felt drawn to a man with jet-black hair. “Pray for healing,” I heard (and second-guessed) the Holy Spirit saying. I was shaking and pacing around trying to work up the courage. When I finally walked over, I realized I knew him! It was a missionary I’d met years ago. The small talk helped me ease into the “do you need healing?” conversation. He told me he had cancer, and I freaked out inside but still prayed for him right there. I found out a month later—he was declared cancer-free (and still is!). 💁🏻♂️
What?!
I walked into that airport full of fear…I left full of faith. And beautiful experiences. And a desire to do it again… once my blood pressure returned to normal. 😂
That day was a turning point.
I saw God’s intentional, nurturing nature—not to overwhelm me but to walk with me.
As God helped me overcome fear and say yes, it became a launchpad into deeper intimacy with Him and a lifelong passion for healing, wholeness, and walking in the miraculous.
Here’s the truth:
🛑 Fear wants to keep you safe—but it also keeps you stuck.
✅ Faith asks for your yes—and then grows you gently and thrills you from there.
“Whoever is faithful with little will also be trusted with much.” —Jesus in Luke 16:10
Like David defeating lions, bears, and then Goliath with just a pebble—your small steps of faith prepare you for giant victories.
