Prayer That Actually Moves Things | How to Harness the Power of Prayer
One night, I found myself praying for a friend who was deeply tormented and spiritually oppressed.
Not metaphorically. Like… this was real.
It was time to kick a demon out. 😅
My heart was pounding. I didn’t have some polished script or magic formula. But step by step, the Holy Spirit showed me exactly what to do.
And I watched the love and authority of Jesus break through darkness right in front of me. Freedom came. Peace came. JESUS came. 🙌🏽

Sometimes love walks you straight into a moment you never expected… and yet God was already there. ❤️🔥
So girl, never underestimate your prayers, your presence, or your willingness to love someone right where they are.
Let’s talk about how to harness the power of prayer in your life. Because God wants to move through your prayers—even in unexpected places—to bring healing, breakthrough, freedom, and heaven-to-earth transformation. 🌎✨
✨ The Prayer of Faith
Prayer isn’t about throwing requests into the sky and hoping something sticks. 😅
Prayer is connection, alignment, and partnership.
In other words: it’s your bond with God…, and all that bond produces. 💕
In prayer you receive:
⚡ strength when yours runs out
🌤️ perspective when fear clouds everything
👩🏻🦯 direction when you don’t know what to do next
🗻faith that moves mountains
When your AMEN meets God’s YES… things move. 💥
And if you’re noticing that DNA-transfering language… it’s intimate, y’all. 😳
✨ “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word [rhema] of God.” — Romans 10:17 💥
The Greek word there is rhema — a freshly spoken word from God.
That's not only reading information about Him… but hearing His living voice through His Word, community, creation, wisdom, and the Holy Spirit speaking directly into your life. 🤍
And girl… THAT changes things. Like the night with my friend.
🤍 Jesus modeled this
Jesus showed us the way constantly:
🙏🏽 He slipped away from crowds to pray — Luke 5:16
🙏🏽 He prayed all night before major decisions — Luke 6:12
🙏🏽 He thanked the Father before multiplying food — John 6:11
🙏🏽 He prayed before Lazarus walked out of the grave — John 11:41–43
Prayer wasn’t separate from His power. It was the place His earthly life stayed connected to the Father.
I think a lot of us overcomplicate prayer. We think it has to sound polished or powerful. Meanwhile Jesus said...
✨ “Ask… seek… knock.” (Matthew 7:7).
And in the Greek, those words mean:
👉🏽 keep asking
👉🏽 keep seeking
👉🏽 keep knocking
Prayer is about staying connected, not getting everything perfect.
👀 So what does prayer that actually moves things look like?
Here’s 4 ways to lean in:
1️⃣ Pray His Promises 📖
We believe in honest prayers. Because “the truth will set you free” often begins with, “The truth is… I’m struggling,” but then moves into what’s truer than your fear.
So, pray God’s promises instead of your panic.
👉🏽 Go beyond “God, I’m so afraid…”😩
and into “You have given me power, love, and a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7
👉🏻 Stop yourself at “I don’t know what to do…”
and proclaim “I have the wisdom of God.”
👉🏿 Shift from “I don’t know how I’ll make it…” 😵💫
and remind yourself “Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.” — Isaiah 40:31 ⚡
When you pray His promises, you stop rehearsing fear and start agreeing with God. 💥
You’re not begging God to be good. You’re aligning yourself with what He already said is true, which is solid ground.
2️⃣ Pray What You Hear 👂🏽
Sometimes prayer looks quieter. Listening. Slowing down. Letting a verse sink deep. Write down Scriptures, thoughts, impressions, or nudges that stand out. Because God is speaking far more often than we realize.
✨ “For God does speak… though no one perceives it.” — Job 33:14
He speaks in many ways — and often through Scripture, peace, wisdom, that deep knowing in your spirit that says:
👉🏽 “This is the way, walk in it.” — Isaiah 30:21
And it is ALWAYS doing something. Some breakthroughs happen while your faith is growing underneath the surface. Even before your thoughts catch up, trust is already reshaping your mind. 🌱
✨ “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” — Isaiah 26:3
3️⃣ Pray Boldly 🔥
✨ “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” — Mark 11:24
✨ “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” — Ephesians 3:20
God is not intimidated by your emotional prayers, impossible prayers, or shaky prayers you barely know how to say.
Sometimes the emotions stirring inside you — compassion, grief, frustration, righteous anger — are revealing a value that heaven cares deeply about too. Instead of spiraling or shutting down, bring it into partnership with God. Prayer is one of the ways heaven pushes back darkness. 💥
✨ “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood…” — Ephesians 6:12
So stop fighting people. Start fighting for people. 🤍
Choose connection and love the way Jesus demonstrated, laying His life down. Intercession simply means standing in the gap through prayer on someone else’s behalf. And breakthroughs often happen because someone prayed when others gave up.
4️⃣ Pray Together 🫱🏾🫲🏼
✨ “For where two or three gather together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” — Matthew 18:20
There’s unmatched power in collective prayer.
When we pray together, faith grows and hope strengthens. We’re able to remind each other that the mountain isn’t a giant — it’s a piece of furniture beneath your feet.
So find a prayer friend or join a prayer group. Share honestly and contend for each other. Sometimes breakthrough comes because someone stood beside you and believed with you before you could believe for yourself.
🤩 Your spirit wants to pray
Prayer is your face-to-face encounter with the Creator of the universe. Your spirit was made for this kind of connection.
It's where fear dissolves, clarity forms, and miracles unfold.
✨ “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” — James 5:16
Prayer is never wasted. It’s impossible for nothing to happen when heaven is involved. 💥
So if prayer has felt distant lately, don’t quit. Your spirit is still reaching for Him—even when your mind feels tired or distracted.
Start simple.
📖 Open the Word
🕊️ Ask God what He’s saying
🔥 Pray His promises back to Him
🫱🏾🫲🏼 Invite someone trusted to pray with you
Keep showing up, because God is closer than you think… and He has chosen to move through praying people. 💛
To deeper faith and breakthrough,
Kandi
