When Life Feels Stuck: Remember the Epic Story You're In

🚗 Ever feel like your life keeps rerouting?
Sometimes life feels like your GPS keeps saying:
"Recalculating..."
You know God has called you to something meaningful... but the road looks nothing like you expected.
It's gotten bumpy and you're just trying not to spill your coffee. ☕️
Somewhere between purpose and potholes, you start wondering,
"Did I miss a turn?"
I know that feeling well. 😅
It's how I felt when half our ministry team left.
I suddenly found myself juggling:
• three energetic boys
• church responsibilities
• client work
• about seventeen open Google Docs
I wasn't just busy. I was weary.
My coffee was doing the Lord’s work 😜 as I carried more responsibility — and heartache — than I thought I could.
I honestly wondered if I'd lost whatever spark God had once put inside me.
Then God surprised me.
I “accidentally” bumped into Havilah Cunnington — the woman I secretly stalked on Instagram for inspiration. Four boys, full ministry, fire in her eyes… aka living my dream life.
We talked for ten minutes — about motherhood, ministry, personalities — and something in me reignited.
As I walked away, I sensed the Holy Spirit whisper:
“She’s your people. Don’t shrink. You’re made for big things, too.”
Cue the tears in the sunshine. 🥹
A week later, someone I just met at church said, "You remind me of Havilah."
That wasn't really about her. It was God reminding me that He still saw me.
Maybe He's saying the same thing to you:
• You're not behind
• You're not forgotten
• You're not stuck in the background of God's story
• You're being positioned for the next scene
• You don't have to wait for permission to shine
Every detour, delay, and "how is this my life right now?" moment (😳)... can become part of something beautiful in God's hands
(Now that's my favorite part.)
Looking back now, I can see He was doing exactly that in me.
Today...
I'm living and leading more fully into my calling — coaching, creating, teaching, connecting with my children — watching God redeem that weary season by expanding my capacity.
As a high achiever 🤓, I assumed that meant pushing harder. Instead, He taught me to abide more deeply.
Rush used to drain my battery by lunch. 🪫👉🏼🔋 But little by little, God showed me that rest creates overflow, and stillness grows strength.
He's been rewriting what it means to hold more, run farther, and see clearer — while also helping me slow down enough to enjoy the simple gifts right in front of me.
It's been especially meaningful in my seasons of disorientation, betrayal, and burnout.
And if He can do that in me, He can do it in you, too. 🌿
🌆 Tomorrow matters...
The Bible ends (in Rev. 21–22) with a stunning, almost cinematic picture: a city where heaven and earth finally collide, beauty and laughter are everywhere, and the presence of God is lighting up everything.
Not people escaping earth... but God restoring everything.
Here's humanity's future story:
🏡 Every broken thing made whole.
🎨 Every culture bursting with creativity.
👩🏽🎨 Every person reflecting God’s artistry.
🌈 Every dream redeemed and blooming.
🏰 The grandest homecoming mixed with uncharted adventure.
❤️🔥 God’s presence of joy saturating everything.
It's far bigger than clouds and harps. 😇
It's resurrection life, restored purpose, and complete renewal.
That’s where every bit of your story is headed.
🌞 Which means today matters
The story doesn't start "someday". It starts now.
In one sense, your life is a rehearsal for heaven.
Scripture tells us we'll reign with Christ one day. That may be hard to picture now, but every act of love, forgiveness, and creativity today is preparing us for what's ahead (including our future royal roles 👀).
But there's something even more amazing for us to take hold of now.
Heaven has already begun breaking into today.
Jesus announced that the Kingdom of God had arrived and invited us to live in it today — not just after we die. (Mark 1:15)
It was also His idea that you would pray, "on earth as it is in heaven."
That means every ordinary moment matters.
• Every quiet act of obedience
• Every prayer whispered through tears
• Every choice to forgive
• Every time you trust God when quitting feels easier
None of it is wasted.
The intimacy you build with God today doesn't end here... it grows into all of eternity. 🌿
Even when life feels off-script, remember: the Author of your story never wastes a scene.
It doesn't always look tidy 😜, but it's a breathtaking continuation of God’s glory, beauty, and joy — and of you becoming fully alive in everything you were ever meant to be.
✨ So arise and shine
You don't have to wait for heaven to start shining.
"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth... but the Lord rises upon you, and His glory appears over you.” — Isaiah 60:1
Darkness might be real, but so is the glory rising on you.
You don't have to wait until life feels easier.
You don't have to earn permission.
God's glory isn't waiting for your circumstances to improve.
He's inviting you to shine right where you are, without dimming or apologizing.
So live like the story’s already in motion... because it is:
💥 Heaven is touching earth every time you say yes
🎨 Your choices today are painting eternity with color
🪡 Your faithfulness now matters to Him
✨ Your joy, creativity, and courage are evidence of God's work
💛 This week...
Ask God,
"Where are You already moving today?"
Then simply join Him. You likely don't need a life overhaul — just invite God in and live like your story matters today.
Maybe that's:
• choosing wonder instead of worry
• worshipping while you wash dishes
• sending the text
• taking the next brave step
Small yeses become beautiful stories.
Because heaven’s story isn’t waiting for later — it’s unfolding through you right now. 🌍💛
